Northern Arizona Healthcare
I designed all advertising, marketing and branding materials for two primary hospitals with 36 service lines in Sedona, the Verde Valley and Flagstaff. I worked in the capacity as an art director developing creative campaigns for all digital, social media, print, web (public-facing and internal portal sites) and promotional collateral, managed print and vendor relations, managed service line leaders with project requests, managed freelance and assisting designers, and interns, managed requests-for-bids, and led creative campaigns from ideation to presentation and delivery.
Coconino Community College
I designed the marketing collateral for Marketing & PR, the Foundation office, the President’s office, and all other divisions within the college. Deliverables included posters, postcards, fliers, web-based artwork, web banners, home page buttons and information, managed requests-for-bids and evaluated incoming bid proposals from vendors. I designed and managed content for a 20-page large-format newsprint class schedule provided via bulk postage to the general public. I managed all printer relations and press deadline needs.
Sedona Publishing Company
As Art Director for SPC publications, I provided page plan layout, cover design, feature/department design, illustration, advertising design, file preparation and pre-press production. Publications included Sedona Magazine, Discover Sedona, Sedona Visitor Guide, Sedona Luxury Properties, and Experience Sedona. I also provided advertising clients additional marketing collateral on a regular basis, which was created in-house through Pinnacle Productions – a division of Sedona Magazine.
Down East Enterprise – Fly Rod & Reel magazine
Art Director for this nationally distributed magazine. I initiated a full redesign of the publication after my first two years of tenure. Other production responsibilities included an annual gear and apparel guide. I also managed photographers and photo shoots, illustrators, and an assistant production designer for the advertisement sections. I created art illustrations for departments, feature stories as well as other magazines at Down East Enterprise—Shooting Sportsman and Down East Magazine.
Mountain Living Publications
This company produced several publications that catered to the local and regional northern Arizona audience. I was promoted to design director within a year and a half managing production and design staff for its regional monthly business magazine (Mountain Living) and weekly arts and entertainment publication (Flagstaff Live!), a quarterly city-guide publication (CityScapes) and a Chamber Directory publication. Duties involved design of editorial content, ad production as well as regular contributing feature and cover illustrations.
Dwain Fletcher Company (contracted with U.S. Army)
I provided digital and hand drawn illustrations accompanying a quarterly brief representing the Army (and subsequently Air Force and Navy) to the Pentagon accounting for all requested funding. Promotional collateral such as fliers, posters, newsletters, and illustrations of military vehicles such as the M1 Abrams tank and the Apache attack helicopter - both part of the simulated training at STRICOM - were created quantifying the value of the PEO STRICOM group, its strategic value and justifying its yearly budget. The brief tracked and provided quantifiable information as to the activities, purchases and programs being implemented in the Simulation, Training and Instrumentation Command (STRICOM) unit.
